FAQs
Yes, I do have a standard pricing system for my coaching services. Here are the details:
16-Week Comprehensive Program: This is a personalized program that's tailored to your individual goals and needs. It's designed to reinforce your foundational fitness skills and optimize your performance, no matter if you're a busy professional or an athlete. The cost for this 16-week program is $1375 CAD plus tax.
Legacy Program: After completing the initial 16-week program, clients can choose to continue with our Legacy Program. The cost of this program depends on the length of time you wish to commit: 3 months, 6 months, or a full year. The pricing for these options will be provided upon consultation.
Please note that all programs are built around creating a strong foundation for long-term success in health and wellness. Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your performance to the next level, we have an informed, practical approach built just for you. Together, we'll work towards achieving your fitness goals and building a healthier, more confident you.
When working with a new client, I follow a systematic process to ensure that their unique needs and goals are met:
Initial Consultation: We begin with a consultation where I get to know the client's fitness level, health history, and personal goals. This session is crucial for understanding what the client hopes to achieve and any potential challenges.
Assessment: I conduct a thorough physical assessment to gauge the client's current fitness level. This may include tests for mobility, strength, endurance, and flexibility.
Goal Setting: Based on the initial consultation and assessment, we set realistic and achievable short-term and long-term goals.
Program Design: I then design a personalized training program tailored to the client's goals, fitness level, and preferences. The program includes a mix of workouts, nutritional guidance, and recovery strategies.
Program Implementation: The client begins their fitness journey under my guidance. I monitor their progress, provide feedback, and make necessary adjustments to the program, ensuring it continues to challenge them and facilitate progress.
Regular Check-Ins: I schedule regular check-ins to discuss progress, address any concerns or questions, and adjust the program as needed.
Progress Evaluation: After a set period (typically every 4-6 weeks), I evaluate the client's progress towards their goals. Based on this evaluation, I may modify their program to ensure continued progress and motivation.
Continued Support: Even after achieving their initial goals, I continue to support clients in maintaining their fitness levels and setting new goals.
This process ensures that each client receives a program that is not only tailored to their individual needs but also adaptable as they progress and their needs evolve.
I have a robust educational background and hold several professional qualifications in the field of fitness and nutrition.
Here are the details:
Personal Training Certification: This certification has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to design effective exercise programs and guide clients in achieving their fitness goals.
Sports Nutrition Certificate: This certificate has provided me with the knowledge to advise clients on diet and nutrition for improving performance and maintaining optimal health.
Precision Nutrition Level 1 and 2 Certified Coach: These certifications have trained me in evidence-based nutrition coaching, enabling me to help clients make sustainable dietary changes tailored to their individual needs and goals.
Online Trainer Academy Level 1 and 2 Certificates: These certifications have equipped me with the skills needed to provide effective online training and coaching, allowing me to reach and help clients regardless of location.
Exercise Degree Program Student: Currently, I am furthering my education by pursuing a degree in exercise science. This program is enhancing my understanding of the human body, exercise physiology, and the role of physical activity in health and disease prevention.
This comprehensive educational and professional background ensures that I am well-equipped to guide you on your fitness journey, providing expert advice on both exercise and nutrition.
My journey into this field began with a personal passion for fitness and wellness. I've always been fascinated by the incredible capabilities of the human body and the transformative power of exercise and nutrition.
I started out as an avid gym-goer, immersing myself in various forms of physical activity. However, as I learned more about the science behind fitness, I realized that there was so much more to it than just lifting weights or running on a treadmill.
Wanting to deepen my understanding, I pursued professional certifications in personal training and sports nutrition. This formal education not only enhanced my own fitness journey but also ignited a desire to share my knowledge and help others achieve their health and fitness goals.
Seeing the positive impact of proper training and nutrition on people's lives inspired me to become a certified coach. I further expanded my skills with Precision Nutrition and Online Trainer Academy certifications, allowing me to provide comprehensive and flexible coaching services to a wide range of clients.
Now, as I continue to grow by pursuing an exercise science degree, I find immense satisfaction in guiding others on their fitness journeys alongside the disease prevention avenue. Whether it's helping someone run their first 5K, lose weight, or feel healthier and more confident, I am committed to making a positive difference through my work.
Over the course of my career so far, I've had the privilege to work with a diverse range of clients, each with their unique goals, challenges, and backgrounds. Here are some examples:
Beginners: Individuals who are new to fitness or have been inactive for a long time. I help them develop basic fitness skills, build a regular exercise habit, and gradually increase their fitness levels.
Weight Loss Seekers: Clients aiming to lose weight healthily and sustainably. I provide them with tailored exercise programs and nutrition guidance to achieve their weight loss goals.
Athletes: From amateur to professional athletes looking to improve performance in their specific sport. I design sport-specific training and nutrition plans to enhance their strength, speed, endurance, and agility.
Rehabilitation Clients: Individuals recovering from injuries or surgeries. I design and oversee safe and effective rehabilitation programs to help them regain strength, mobility, and function.
Older Adults: Seniors wanting to stay active, maintain functional ability, and improve quality of life. I create programs that accommodate their abilities and health conditions, focusing on flexibility, balance, strength, and cardiovascular health.
Online Clients: With the rise of digital platforms, I've also worked with many clients remotely, providing online training programs and nutritional advice.
Nutrition Coaching Clients: Individuals seeking to improve their eating habits. As a certified nutrition coach, I guide them in making sustainable dietary changes to support their health and fitness goals.
Regardless of their starting point, I am committed to helping each client achieve their personal goals and lead healthier, more active lives.
When looking to hire a professional in the fitness and nutrition domain, here are a few pieces of advice I would offer:
Check Qualifications: Ensure that the professional you're considering has relevant certifications and education. Look for qualifications like personal training certification, nutrition coaching certification, or a degree in a related field.
Experience Matters: Consider the professional's experience. Have they worked with clients similar to you? Do they specialize in the area you're interested in, such as weight loss, athletic performance, or rehabilitation?
Personalized Approach: Every individual is unique, so a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't work in exercise science and nutrition. The professional should be willing to create a customized plan that considers your goals, lifestyle, current fitness level, and dietary preferences.
Communication Skills: A good trainer or nutrition coach should be an excellent communicator. They should be able to explain concepts clearly, listen to your concerns, and provide feedback effectively.
Positive Reviews/Testimonials: Check reviews or testimonials from previous clients. This can give you a sense of the professional's expertise, personality, and how they interact with their clients.
Continuing Education: The field of fitness and nutrition is constantly evolving. Look for professionals who demonstrate a commitment to continuing education to stay updated with the latest research and trends.
Compatibility: Finally, it's crucial that you feel comfortable with the professional. You should feel motivated, supported, and respected. Remember, this is a person you'll potentially be working closely with, so a good rapport is essential.
Remember, the goal is to find a professional who is knowledgeable and experienced and aligns with your personal needs and goals.
Before talking to professionals about their fitness or nutrition project, clients should consider the following questions:
What are my specific goals? Are you looking to lose weight, gain muscle, improve athletic performance, or rehabilitate an injury? Having clear goals can help the professional tailor a program specifically for you.
What is my current fitness level? Understanding your current fitness level will help the professional design a program that is challenging yet achievable and safe.
What is my health history? Do you have any medical conditions, injuries, or physical limitations that the professional should be aware of? This information is crucial for ensuring your safety and effectiveness of the program.
What are my dietary preferences and restrictions? If you're seeking nutrition coaching, it's important to think about any dietary restrictions (e.g., allergies, vegetarian/vegan, religious restrictions) and preferences.
How much time can I commit? Knowing how many days per week and minutes per day you can dedicate to exercise will help the professional create a realistic and manageable plan.
What is my budget? Fitness and nutrition coaching can range in price depending on factors like the professional's experience and the length and intensity of the program. Knowing your budget beforehand can help narrow down your options.
What motivates me? Different people are motivated by different things - competition, data tracking, variety, routine, etc. Sharing this with the professional can help them keep you motivated and engaged.
What has worked or not worked in the past? Reflecting on past experiences can provide valuable insights into what type of program or approach might work best for you now.
By considering these questions beforehand, you'll be better prepared to discuss your needs and goals with the professional, leading to a more productive conversation and ultimately, a more effective program.
