FAQs

First I will talk with them about the general idea of what kind of makeup they want, suggesting different ideas based on face shape and skin tones. I will also ask about any potential allergies. Afterwards, if we are conversing prior to the application day, I will sketch out some face charts to give my client an idea of what the makeup may look like. When we meet up for the actual application I will set up and explain what I'm doing and periodically show the client the makeups progress.

I have graduated from Sheridan College's Makeup for Media and Creative Arts Program.

I started off doing simple out of kit Special Effects makeup on myself for halloween, and found that I really enjoyed working with it, so I decided to go into the makeup field.

I have worked with a variety of clients, including younger individuals going through to more mature clients. I have also worked with a variety of skin tones and skin types.

I worked on a viking inspired photoshoot this year. I quite enjoyed working on this project as I am partially Swedish and I am rather interested in the Viking era. This photoshoot had two models, a male and a female. The makeup portion of the photoshoot took about two hours as myself and the other makeup artists working on the shoot were also in charge of hair and wardrobe.

I would suggest looking at the individuals personality before the length of time they have been in the industry, as getting a makeup artist that you can easily talk with is extremely important.

Does this person have photos in their portfolio that match up with what kind of makeup I want? Do they seem to have a personality that matches with my own?
