Our firm can assist you in designing and building an energy efficient Passive House. This design method is based off the German Passive Haus, a rigorous, voluntary standard for energy efficiency in a building, reducing its ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings that require little energy for space heating or cooling.
Further, we can assist in the construction of your home as a Net-Zero home, a building with zero net energy consumption. This means that the total amount of energy used by the building on an annual basis is roughly equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the site.

Electricity costs are high and continue to rise. One way of making electricity affordable is by reducing consumption. We can assess your home, business or farm's electricity consumption and provide recommendations for improvement.
We offer Hot2000 modelling, an energy simulation and design tool for low-rise residential buildings.
We also can identify air leaks within your building through "blower door tests" used to measure the airtightness of buildings.
In conjunction with these methods, we also offer thermal air leak detection, a visual method of identifying heat loss in your building.
We approach radon mitigation from a building science perspective and take a lot of extra time engineering a system that can demonstrate the correct amount of depressurization for each particular situation. We use the official Health Canada process for mitigation system design and have developed software models to aid our design. Although this science-based approach is proven to result in the best radon reduction and the quietest and most efficient radon systems, it is not common practice in the industry.
