My pricing system is standard. $350 base + props/space rental/expenses +$50 additional person in same environment + taxes This applies to people as well as to objects.

Coffee chit-chat (I watch their facial and body expressions, what comes naturally to them) where I learn what is important to them and how they naturally express themselves without the stress of a camera on them. Sometimes we immediately shoot and sometimes I set up a different day to do the shoot. I work mostly with creatives: artistic directors, songwriters, painters etc. who are often misunderstood and need a little extra time. Of course I like to give that level of attention to business clients as well.

I am a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography and was for many years a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada. I attained certification in several different specialties and won national awards. I also have a degree in psycology

20 years ago I moved to Winnipeg and was stressed from my last job in human services. I retrained as a commercial photographer and it has been a good decision.

Find someone who will put in the time to find you, so see you. So they know what makes you tick, what is important to you.

Beyond money for sure. I think that my customers get a gut feeling about chemistry or lack of it when talking to pros. If you just know that your photographer is treating it like a factory job, like you are like everyone else, then you know that this isn't the pro for you. You will continue to hunt for someone with whom you click.
