Great experience. Very talented and friendly portrait photographer, always goes the extra mile for his clients. I got a bunch of beautiful and well done portrait shots for my portfolio, and the editing is spot on!

We did portraits together with several outfit changes, from professional business look to casual and evening attire. Ron is a great photographer with a talented eye and willing to explore creative ideas. He also had a lovely hair and make up artist in the studio. Recommended: he is friendly, talkative and a true professional.

I've worked with Ron on a number of occasions, we've even hosted some teaching workshops together a few times. Ron is the definition of professional. He knows his stuff, is happy to experiment, and provides absolutely beautiful images on a timely basis. I highly recommend him!

FAQs

Very general, the pricing is $50 per hour for photography services. Factors that change the price are number of finished prints and format of prints ( electronic or physical prints ), travel distance to location, makeup services etc.

I like to start with email or text to determine basics, such as location, type of shot, and purpose for the photographs. Exchange of inspiration images to get a feel for the look / atmosphere of the finished shots. Telephone calls can follow if more clarification is needed. I then write up a summary and send to the client for review with everything from makeup requirements, wardrobe charges etc along with costing

10 years of photography with the last 6 years in studio have helped me sharpen my skills. I have worked with an d supplied images to many model in the film, television and print media. I also teach photography basics and advanced lighting with workshops in my downtown Toronto studio.

I started in this field as many people do, as a hobby. As a child, I would develop my own black and white prints. I moved into taking on photography projects from recommendations from people I worked with and after several years, I leased studio space and have been working at a comfortable pace ever since.

Besides the general public, I have worked with television personalities, models in print and runway and musicians

One of my favourite shoots was a small production outdoors capturing ballerina dance on a black screen with rain ( artificial ) falling on the scene. From setting up the scaffolding to hold the tarps and lights and building the rain system, it was almost as fun and exciting as the actual shots themselves

My advise is to look at their work and if you see images they have taken that you like, they may be your photographer. There are many photographers who post images that they took during a workshop, but don't actually have their own lighting or studio. They rent the space as required. For location shooting, asking if the photographer has his own insurance , property coverage, liability is also an indication of a serious photographer

Questions to ask yourself before talking to a professional varies from case to case, but one basic question is the "What is the purpose or what will the photographers be used for?" Budget si a consideration, but fundamental to all is the purpose of the shoot. Boudoir might not be appropriate for your family Christmas card and wedding pictures wont get you too many dates of the singles web site. A good photographer will help you with a game plan for your shots. Try to stick to professionals in their field. An experienced wedding photographer works well for weddings, but not commercial product shots. A portrait / head-shot photographer will get the best for your family shots, social media photos etc..
