There are many variables in pricing a painting job: the amount of repair involved, how many coats required to cover the existing colour, depth and condition of trim, caulking required, height of walls, etc.. I can do some quotes via photos or videos while getting particular information from the client, but most quotes i do at the location and are based on time required to complete the job. We also work with other trades and builders that we can recommend if need be.

It's really pretty simple. We do an estimate of course, get an idea of what the customer is looking for, make suggestions and find out when they are wanting the work completed. Then hopefully we can work together to make their home beautiful.

While I don't have any education specific to this field - I don't think any painters do - I do have an ability with design that enables me to help customers find colours to make the most of their surroundings. I also make other decor suggestions free of charge. I have helped customers whose kitchen cupboards I've painted choose counter tops and backsplash.

It was actually a blessing. I was out of work and looking for odd jobs to make extra money and they all turned out to be painting jobs. With each new job I seemed to be expanding my skill and now there is almost nothing painting related I can't do well. I love what I do and the people I work with!

I have worked with customers in high end homes, small apartments and small business. Most of my clients are mid-range homes.

My most recent project was a main floor for a young family. The customers were enjoyable and great to work with. There were alot of screw pops on the ceiling (which was continuous throughout the whole main floor)- aka alot of sanding overhead but very satisfying to see a quality end result. The whole job was fun and looked great when finished - it was a beautiful gray which looked fantastic with their fireplace stone and wood mantle as well as furnishings. The job took just over a week - there was alot of ceiling and wall repair, which is always satisfying when seeing the end result.

I think photos and reviews say alot. If photos demonstrate quality you likely have a contractor that is serious about their work and responsible and obviously reviews that reflect a consistent experience from customers.

Budget and level of quality desired. Are there any particular flaws they want remedied. Of course scheduling is an important point as well, how soon they hope to have the work completed. Discussing their overall vision for the project to get feedback and ideas from the contractor and assess whether the contractor can satisfy or even exceed those desires.
