About Shaolin Wushu
Professional experience
Shaolin Wushu is a not-for-profit association located in Calgary that aims to promote traditional Shaolin martial arts and Golden Dragon Dancing through its teachings, mentoring, and practice. Their goal is to share the knowledge of Chin Hock Tan, who has over 50 years of teaching experience in Shaolin Martial Arts. Today, Shaolin Wushu Canada is one of the leading institutions where Chin Hock Tan teaches Shaolin martial arts in Calgary. Sifu/Guro Kevin Goat is a martial arts trainer who has been training in different martial art forms for nearly 30 years. He initially trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, grappling, and Western boxing, but also became interested in training Shaolin Kung Fu and Filipino Martial Arts during his free time. By combining his vast experience in martial arts training, he brings together different martial art styles to offer the best training experience to his students. Kung Fu For Life is another institution that provides traditional kung fu and martial arts training in Calgary. Their instructors have over 60 years of kung fu training experience combined, and they have a strong focus on teaching discipline, respect, and self-defense skills to their students. Grand Master D. Piercey, one of their mentors, has studied kung fu exclusively under Grand Master during his early years in Calgary. Today, Kung Fu For Life is one of the most reputable institutions and has a loyal student base.
