1. Initial consultation to determine if our services are the right fit for the client and job. 2. Develop a detailed written proposal based on client directed scope of work. 3. Develop base information for design: survey, zoning information, client needs, any as built information, preliminary project costs. 4. Develop initial design for project. 5. Design development based on client comments, and budgetary feedback. 6. Confirm project is ready to begin construction/permit drawings. 7. Develop initial construction/permit set and review with client and contractor. 8. Apply and coordinate for all permits and approvals. 9. Follow-up with client and contractor for construction start.

All of my clients have an interest in developing a project with a high level of design and finish. Our firm works on smaller projects as well am more elaborate projects that require a great deal of planning and coordination.

Some clients are looking to answer specific questions about their project that can be dealt with in a consultation. A typical smaller project can take 1-2 months from start to achieving permits. A larger project that has planning approvals, an elaborate design, budget negotiations, and multiple permits can take 3-4 months to a year.

Make sure the professional you hire has experience in dealing with your type of project and has a strong track record in achieving goals in a timely manner.
