A 5K, 10K and 1 Mile run in scenic Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia www.buttertrailrun.com. Reds, yellows and orange are the colors of the leaves on our beautiful trail viewed as you participate in our fun run on our new date October 1st, 2016. The Butter Trail Run is a 5Km, 10KM and 1 miler run. NEW this year we have added for those new to running the “RUN or WALK as fast as you can“. This will be on our track behind the NSRC at 9:30am. As you complete your laps around the track approaching each kilometer you will receive a colored marker. How far can you go this year, 2KM? 3KM? A great place for those to starting to work your ways towards 5KM. This event is all about having fun and enjoying our wonderful location, while encouraging healthy lifestyles for all ages. The routes for the 5K and 10K start at the North Shore Recreation Centre, 30 Blair Ave in Tatamagouche. The run includes a section of the butter trail and part of the Trans Canada trail, then loops back to the . Both runs start at 9:30. The Butter Trail Run is organized by our local Tatamagouche and Area Minor Hockey Association with all funds raised to support this program. The one mile youth run takes place on the running track behind the NSRC as well at 8:45am. It will take them 4 laps to complete one mile. Come on out no matter what the age and run, jog, or push a stroller with the children. It is a lot of fun to watch the little ones run. Healthy snacks, awards and draw prizes will be available after the run as well as well as bathroom and shower facilities. Childcare services are available to those participating in the run. Online registration closes September 28th, but anyone who has not registered online is welcome to register the day of the event before 9am at the event. This is an Atlantic Chip timed event. Registration costs are: Adults $35, youth 17 and under $10 for the 5K, 10K 1 miler youth run $5.00 How far can you walk/run $5 donation payable on the day of the race The popular heads and tails draw will be held after the race. If you are in the area for the day why not enjoy a beautiful lunch of seafood chowder at the popular Chowder house restaurant, top that off with some decadent desserts at the Tiperary Bakery. Sip on a Chai Latte or a Meeting House Waters coffee while watching a demonstration of how Appleton Chocolates are made. Stroll down our beautiful main street and explore some of the quaint gift shops. Pick up your North Shore Hockey T-Shirts at Jack and Ella’s gift shop. Sample a growler from the Tatamagouche Brewery. After a fun filled day in Tatamagouche, why not stay for a night at Cambra Sands Cottages in Wallace or Dolan’s Bed and Breakfast Main street Tatamagouche. Take the time to explore the fall colors the next day by exploring the Rogart Hiking Trail and have lunch at the Sugar Moon Restaurant at the end of your hike in Earltown.
