It is in fact uncommon to enter into the store and not find a least one AKK overseeing the goings on of the day or attempting to run the computer in the office. The parking lot in early evenings also makes a great place to learn and practice for upcoming shows and adventures. Taylak Alaskan Klee Kai began when Schipperke breeder June Demers stumbled across the Alaskan Klee Kai breed while researching about her breed. As predicted by the breed developer Linda Spurlin, the AKK did its magic in pulling June’s heartstrings. Not before long, June was in touch with Carroll Parkinson, and eventually arranged to have Miss Lakota pay her a maternity visit. Lakota whelped six puppies and out of which, one special one – Kodi – stayed with June. Kodi grew up beautifully and became Taylak’s foundation female. After Carroll’s passing, June began working with Karen Street of Aliak Kennels, from whom Skemo came to Taylak. Under Karen’s mentorship, the Taylak family grew over the years to include beautiful offspring such as Mutka, Sitka and Tika. Taylak is proud to be one of the first Alaskan Klee Kai breeders in Canada, who strives to produce outstanding puppies to become consistent show winners in United Kennel Club events, as well as loving lifelong companions for many families.Unleashed Learning

Animalert was founded in London, Ontario, Canada in 1977 by four animal lovers who wanted to ensure that pets were adopted by caring guardians. We now have about 35 active members, plus our large network of volunteers, which helps us spread the word about our adoption program and raise funds to offset our operating expenses. We are able to place about 250 cats and dogs a year into responsible, loving homes. Not bad for a volunteer group, but we’d like to do better and with your help, we can! Animalert focuses on three main areas: Adoption, Education, and Spaying/Neutering. Animalert works independently of the London Humane Society and London Animal Care and Control Centre. We raise all of our money through adoption fees, private donations and fund-raising efforts, such as our annual Christmas bazaar. Because we have virtually no administrative overhead, approximately 90 per cent of our money is used for veterinary care, food and housing.

Ultrasound is a safe, pain free, quick and non invasive method of obtaining many different diagnoses. Sedation is not usually required. With imaging done on-site, facilities are able to offer additional services to their clients, decreasing the need to refer out. Clients and their pets will be more comfortable not having to travel, time will be saved and treatments and follow up can be kept with their own veterinarian. Studies that may be ordered include; Comprehensive Abdomen, Echocardiogram, Renal/Bladder, Pregnancy, Ocular, Thyroid and Lump. Studies must be ordered by a veterinarian and results will be sent directly back to the veterinarian by the radiologist. Appointments can usually be made within a day or two and results can be expected within a day or two as well. Echocardiogram results may take longer. Reports can be ordered as STAT, for a fee, if results are required ASAP.
