The program is accessible to all ages and abilities. We ran a full-time facility in Ottawa and we will be following the same guidelines. It was extremely successful program and in fact its still running now. Presently we are open for 4 years and up. But if there is interest we can provide classes for any age group. If we have a minimum of 4 people we will run a class. We run classes that touch all bases of circus arts and we run focused elite programs and masterclasses in specific fields. including; Trampoline, object manipulation (Juggling, club swinging, plate spinning, Diabolo), mini Trampoline, German wheel, floor acrobatics, balancing, clown, mime, improvisation and aerial skills. The speciality of this program is that both coaches are highly qualified and have toured performing world wide with many companies including Cirque Du Soleil. In the competitive world of trampoline Dominique coached athletes up to Silver medalist at the World Championships. Our emphasis is on safety, fun and self confidence. L’École de cirque des Îles enseigne les techniques de l’art du cirque et vise l’intervention sociale, l’exercice et la formation artistique pour tous. L’intérêt pour les disciplines du cirque s’est manifesté de façon particulière aux Îles de la Madeleine dans les années 1980. Le talent et la ténacité de quelques jeunes adeptes Madelinots ont donné naissance, en 1994, au Cirque Éloize, aujourd’hui devenu chef de file du cirque contemporain. Le projet d’une École de cirque a donc germé lentement mais sûrement grâce, entre autres, au soutien indéfectible d’éducateurs physiques de la Polyvalente des Îles et du Centre d’activités physiques, mais aussi grâce à la ferveur et aux prouesses d’élèves doués. L’École de cirque des Îles a été constituée en corporation autonome, sans but lucratif, le 13 août 2004. Students come to Cirque-ability to learn the art of circus, improve their fitness and have fun! However, the real success that comes from discovering your “cirque-ability” is feeling inspired to do the things that you never thought possible. We promise personalized instruction, small class sizes and excellence in coaching. Small Class Sizes! No more than 6 students to a coach, this means personalized instruction, faster progress and a higher level of safety. No more than two students to a piece of aerial equipment. This means more time in the air and less time waiting for your turn. Qualified and Trained Coaches! We understand that excellence in performance and competition does not automatically make you a good coach. Our coaches go through a training program to become great coaches. They know how to break down skills, give directions, troubleshoot problems and offer alternatives. We focus on safety! Trained coaches, skill progressions and proper matting helps create a safe training environment. When looking for an aerial ﹠ acrobatic school it’s important to ask questions that pertain to your safety. Ask whether coaches have gone through a training program to coach and which certifications they hold. Ask whether there is a level system in place to ensure that students aren’t working on skills beyond their ability. Take a look at the space to see whether you can see proper mats under equipment and on the floor. Ask questions about how the aerial equipment has been rigged. At Cirque-ability we are always happy to answer your questions. Lesson Plans! Our coaches have a plan. Even the most difficult moves are broken down into progressions that make learning skills easier. Having a a level system ensures that advanced skills are not introduced too soon and students are ready for the skills they are learning. Our classes are geared to each individual’s level by allowing students to work through our lesson plans at their own pace and not expecting them to work at a group level. A Non-Competitive Environment. Cirque-ability has a great sense of community. Students of all levels work together and respect each other. Cirque du Monde is a social circus program by Cirque du Soleil that combines circus techniques with educational social intervention to help at-risk youth. Cirque du Monde is a program by Cirque du Soleil program that uses circus arts as a means of intervention with at-risk youth, an approach known as social circus. With the aim to foster the personal and social development of these young people, Cirque du Monde focuses its actions on training for practitioners, support for social circus organizations and advocacy about the benefits of social circus. - Cirque du Monde est un programme du Cirque du Soleil qui fait la promotion de l’utilisation des arts du cirque comme mode d’intervention auprès des jeunes en difficulté, une pratique que l’on appelle cirque social.
